I upsoluted my 1998 volvo s70 t5. about one year ago.
Max boost was said to increase from 11 psi to 16 psi.
But recently I installed boost guage and saw that the max holding boost is 11 psi only, stock boost.
11 psi is max at 2nd gear and just after switched into 3 rd gear boost peaks at 15 psi for very very short time (0.5 second) and hold back at 11 psi.
And the same pattern when gear switched into 4th gear.
(My car is 4 speed auto.)
The result is that the car feels lacking power over 150Km/h in full-throttle.
Also it feels like, the car accelerates slower than stock in high speed region over 150K/h.
I guess something must be wrong.
All the hardwares are checked to be normal.
Furthermore I tested my car with another chipped ecu
and the result is that after 3rd gear kicks in the boost goes up to 16 psi and holds there quite a long time and fade down to 11 psi very slowly and after 4th gear kicks in the boost goes up to 16 psi again and stay there.
So I conclude my car's hard wares are normal.
Did my car with upsoluted ecu fall into safety mode or limp-home mode?
The car behaves like a stock.
Does Safety mode or limp mode make car into stock?
