Okay, I'll do the kick-off.
I'm KMvrtr, I don't know how to explain this nickname in English,
Since 3 september 2001 my car is a Opel (UK: Vauxhall) Astra station Sport Edition with a 2.0 DTi 100bhp diesel engine. My car is one of the first of the 2002 models. Which is, by the way, quite an improvement, regarding the interieur. The dash looks much nicer, sames goes for the upholstery (if that's the correct word, I haven't written in English for ages...).
The only modification up till now is the self-installed (of which I'm extremely proud!) radardetector Bel 915. The detector is fitted with an extra 'horn' to improve detection to at least 500 meters.
I've got several modifications planned:
* sport springs (Eibach),if affordable also sport shockabsorbers
* strutbar front, rear if available (Wiechers)
* semi-sport brake pads, possibly also brake discs
* maybe I'll change tyres too, still testing if standard fitted are sufficient...
* dot 5.1 brake fluid (is that the correct word? This isn't exactly the vocabulary they thought me in school...)
Oh, I almost forgot! I'm getting Upsoluted on 24 september. Upgrading to switchable model is also planned. :D

Hi,
I've got an "elderly" '96 B4 Passat TDI Estate, nothing special except that as a result of being "Ue'd" (yes Alex, still thinking of a tasteful "badge"!!) I have to think ahead on mild upgrades to brakes & shock absorbers.
Anyone want to comment on front pads ... to match new stock VW discs ... I'm thinking of Pagid Fast Road pads. Will also be replacing the rear discs but reckon to stay with say standard road Pagids, 'cos the rear disc brakes also provide the handbrake ... or does anyone think it's best top get the FRs all round.
Thinking about shocks ... I don't want to lower the car, just beef up the shock absorber side with cost-effective gas damped ones. Doubt that I can run to fully adjustable Konis ... but any suggestions well received.
Oh, just to add, I'm on stock 14" steel wheels & when I got the car, started off with Pirelli P6000s all round, but wore the front set out far too quickly, and they were fairly useless for grip on rougher surfaces, loose tracks etc. Went for Eagle Venturas which have superb wet weather characteristics ... their grip under acceleration is amazing. They also have better grip on loose surfaces due to the more open block design.Have to say though that compared with the P6000s, their not so good in the dry on metalled roads, feeling less direct & nimble and lacking quite the same cornering power and ability to cope with harsh braking.
