Hello guys,
I'm new in the tuning world. I don't want too tune cars, but my interests go too all engines
of the brand John-Deere (they make industrial engines, tractors, gen sets, marine engines,...)
We sell at home the brand John-Deere, but of course we also get much questions about
tuning up the engines (more horsepower, more torque, more rpm, more speed on the road (tractors))
From the site of John-Deere i can download the original software by VIN, so I enter the VIN number
of the engine, or tractor and so I get the correct engine file for the engine I entered.
I can open those files, it are hex-files. But now my question to your knowledge comes:
I opened the files in winols (demo) but i can't find anything useful, so these are my questions:
1) How can I find the chassis number or VIN number in these files and change them?
2) How can change the engine parameters, (for example: I want too change the engine from 150hp to 170hp)
3)Can I change these settings without extracting the chip/EEPROM, i don't even know witch sort of chip
that there is in the ECU.
Before you answer you have too know that:
1) I have different sorts of injection systems (it are all diesel engines), I have Common Rail engines,
I have the Bosch VP44 pump and DENSO DE10 pump.
2) Between the different models of engines, there are some engines who are mechanically the same but who have just an other program written on there ECU, so if someone of you guys could compare 2 and find the differences, that could help me on the way.
3) Now I can 'write' the programs on the ECU's of the vehicles with my 'live connection' this works with my laptops USB port to a cable that connects on the CAN network of the vehicle, can i use this connection for changing the ECU?
4) I saw on the winOLS site they have a check sum file already for the Bosch VP44 for the John-Deere engine.
I really hope you can help me, i don't know where to go for my problem. I will try too put some images of
the different ECU's with this message, and maybe I will try too put some of the ECU files I've downloaded from John-Deere directly.
Guys I know I ask strange questions, but really this is 2 years I'm searching for solutions and I think, I don't have the right programs, or skills to do it, so please help me on the way!!
